BEHIND THE SCENES
BARRY STRICKLAND (COORDINATING PRODUCER) is a Perth-based freelance consultant, having previously been an ABC Radio National broadcaster and a Senior Project Officer with ArtsWA. He served for six years as a member of the Perth International Arts Festival’s board of management, and is intimately associated with a number of other festivals, including ARTRAGE and QFest: Cue Outback Festival. He has been variously associated with a plethora of arts activities and initiatives, including writing television documentaries such as the top-rating Hoover’s Gold and the multi-award-winning The Fabulous Flag Sisters. Barry currently sits on the boards of the WA Chamber of Arts and Culture, Deckchair Theatre and Artrage Inc (Perth Fringe Festival).
PAT J MARTIN (PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR) has twenty years experience in senior management positions in the health sector in Australia. Since 2003 she has worked in the international arena, most recently in Geneva with the World Health Organization. Her involvement with the Arts includes 10 years on the Board of West Australian Ballet.
DAVID MOGRIDGE (PRODUCTION MANAGER) is one of Australia’s most experienced production managers, having trained and worked with the Royal Ballet and the London Festival Ballet prior to moving to Australia, where he established a long-term association with West Australian Ballet as Technical Director and Touring Manager. His many achievements include taking West Australian Ballet into spectacular outdoor locations, including Perth’s Forrest Place, Broome’s Cable Beach, and Yallingup’s Cave’s House. Over the years, he has regularly lectured at the WA Academy of Performing Arts, and has contributed immensely to the capacity and growth of Western Australia’s dance sector.
ARMAND GERRARD (UK/EUROPEAN REPRESENTATIVE) is a highly experienced Producer and General Manager with over 30 years experience of devising, developing, commissioning and resourcing a huge range of work in the UK and overseas. This includes theatrical productions, arena and festival presentations, site-specific work, corporate events and film and television productions.
Trained at RADA, he has worked for The Royal Opera, The Royal Ballet, Wexford Festival Opera, BBC Television, The British Council and at Dartington International Summer School. A founder member of the West End Producers’ Alliance and Opera and Music Theatre Forum, he was Administrative Director of Nexus Opera and Executive Producer of the The Royal Opera House Garden Venture.
